Scope and applicable law

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nLPD) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in particular when we offer services to individuals in the European Economic Area.

Personal data we collect

When you submit the expedition enquiry form, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Group size
• Selected route and travel duration
• Country you are travelling from
• City you are travelling from
• Additional comments (optional)

We also process your IP address to prevent abuse of the contact form. This address is stored in temporary server files for up to one hour for rate limiting and is included in the internal notification email sent to our team.

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 may collect usage data such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, browser, and device information.

When you open our call scheduling calendar or book an appointment, Google may process information such as your name and email address through Google Calendar.

Purposes and legal bases

• Responding to expedition enquiries — legal basis: your consent (nLPD / GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Understanding how the website is used — legal basis: your consent to analytics cookies (nLPD / GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Protecting the contact form against abuse — legal basis: legitimate interest in security (nLPD / GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Operating and maintaining the website — legal basis: legitimate interest in providing a functional online presence (nLPD / GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Complying with legal obligations — legal basis: legal requirement (nLPD / GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

Recipients and processors

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the website, or when required by law.

Our website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. Hosting infrastructure may be located in the European Economic Area. The provider processes technical and access data on our behalf.

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to measure site usage. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Call scheduling is provided through Google Calendar (Google LLC). If you book an appointment, Google processes appointment details on its own systems. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Enquiry notifications are delivered to our team by email through our email and hosting providers.

International transfers

AIAO Sàrl is established in Switzerland. Switzerland benefits from an adequacy decision of the European Commission for transfers from the EEA to Switzerland. Google LLC is established in the United States. Where personal data is transferred to Google, we rely on the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework and, where required, standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Retention periods

• Expedition enquiries: up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless a longer period is required for legal claims or contractual follow-up.
• Rate-limiting data: up to one hour in temporary server files; the IP address may remain in internal enquiry emails for as long as those enquiries are retained.
• Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics settings, only while analytics cookies remain accepted.
• Appointment details: retained for as long as needed to prepare for and conduct the call and manage our business relationship.

Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary cookies store your analytics preference (accept or reject) for up to 12 months. These cookies are required to remember your choice.

Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. They are provided through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 and help us understand aggregated website usage.

You can change your cookie preference at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of this website.

Your rights

Under the nLPD and, where applicable, the GDPR, you may have the right to:

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No online transmission is completely secure.
